Winter Cleanup

Note how very white the street is - salt from the snows but no rain to wash it off. I really hope we get some rain tonight.

It was the first nice day since January 20 when I cut down the buddleias.  Sometime in the last week major branches fell from the "self pruning" silver maple.  Luckily for me, the only part of the house hit by the branch was the downspout. It was crunched; I've reconnected it but need to buy a replacement. It should be easy to just slip a new one in place. I even think I still have the paint in the basement.

There are still patches of crunchy snow in micro-climates. The dog really likes eating them, but it makes him shiver.

I raked the whole south side of the yard, including in the garden part. (I need to make a clear line of garden versus lawn, for walking purposes.  It's currently all blending together.)  I simply piled them up on the lawn; need to drag them to the blueberry patch.
